| I have heard facebook mentioned but don't really know much of anything about it. I have a friend, an ex co-worker, who has asked me to join. Just wonder what you all think about it. I kind of hate to say "no", but then I don't want to get my computer messed up either. I have another friend that recently told me she joined Facebook. I was kind of surprised to find out she did. Facebook may have been discussed here before but I don't remember. Thanks, Fay |

| I joined, its kinda bluh! I never log in; myspace is better IMO... Facebook is mainly getting back iwth old friends and what not. Myspace is for making new friends, and keeping in touch on weekends and what not I think ... or atleast so im told... |

| I have a page on MySpace. I joined after an invite from a current friend. I keep up with friends. I have made new friends. You can choose who can and can not have access to your page. I like to personalize my page. With a couple of my friends, I write a blog so they understand what goes on in my head after I left my last job. Never been on Facebook....so??? But I like MySpace. |

| Hi wee and Holly, If I join it would be to keep up with old friends and would be with Facebook. The only reason I am even considering it is that I received an e-mail from a friend today asking me to join, and just a few days ago talked with another friend that suggested I might want to do so - both was for Facebook. I am just not sure - I really don't' know anything about it and don't want to do something that might have a high risk of messing up my computer. I don't know enough about it to know how big a problem it might be. Fay |

| Your not going to mess up your computer lol... Don't worry so much . Facebook is by Microsoft I think, but don't hold me to that by a long shot! There is very little to facebook you just send messages back and fourth. Quite bluh ... Just join it you will be fine. |

| Fay, Here are two links at our board on FPB... where we discuss a bit about Facebook... please note the dates http://www.freepowerboards.com/geeksmore/geeksmore-about1378.html?highlight=facebookhttp://www.freepowerboards.com/geeksmore/geeksmore-about2035.html?highlight=facebookI'm with Wwe & Holly.... I don't care for it... and I do get tons of invite... I don't even care for myspace either... lol Anywhoo... you are concern about security from that site... It is pretty much a safe site. Security lies in what you do to keep your computer protected.... I would think. Just like everything... beware of clicking on links.... they can be malicious links redirecting you to a bad site... they can be posted in messages or Ads.... if you come to think about it, its pretty much what we look out for here when we share links with each other |

| If you are going to use Facebook, then be very cautious! It's not something that I would use. There are a lot of bad reports about this site from users of the site as reported by SiteAdvisor: I suggest you go to site advisor, type in the facebook URL and read the reviews from users. There are a lot of "Red" reviews! _________________ Repa

| With MySpace Tom the main geek on the board sends out bulletins on things to be aware of that are dangerous or can do damage to your computer cuz some other user was naughty...or whatever. Like any site you are on you have to be careful. But like any thing else on the net... if you trust your friends then you can trust their sites. I do not go surfing around for new friends. They came to me I check out their page and then choose whether to make them a "friend". I limit access to what others can see or do on my page. I agree with the others you can get in to trouble...but with caution .... just my opinion.... If any have MySpace.... http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewProfile&friendID=160506256 |

| Holley I'm sending you a request from both of my accounts One has almost 600 friends the othe rone around 60 or so. And I agree with Sam. Even the most secure site can give you something if you click a bad add they didn't filter. IDC if it's a religious site, gov site, etc. Just use add blocker don't click adds, and only talk to ppl you know. You will be fine. You will prob get bored and never return ... but it's up to you... my myspaces are: www.myspace.com/prowrestlingnow | www.myspace.com/wwe9112EDIT: holly i need your lastname to send you a request... if you want just add me, if u need a lastname its bassett |
