I thought you said you didn't have CardSpace? Apparently, Cardspace is integrated with .NET Framework 3.0 and/or 3.5. From research I did, the only way to remove CardSpace is to uninstall the .NET Framework 3.0. You would do that by uninstalling the last KB associated with .Net Franework 3.0 in the list of Add/Remove programs first, working your way up until all of .net framework 3.0 is gone, or
you can just disable the CardSpace service:
Start > Run > services.msc > Windows CardSpace > Properties > Startup type: Disabled.
CardSpace does seem to cause some people problems with their computer, so do one or the other. Either is equally effective. Disabling it is probably easier for you.
