I don't think this has been asked before, but if so, I apologize! I have the free Avast! and it says now that our subscription is up. It keeps popping up on the desktop computer whenever we turn it on. Will it just go away...or do they do that on purpose so a person gets tired of it popping up and will buy the paid version to stop the annoying pop-up? Should I switch to AVG? Am I still protected? I've noticed that it doesn't update on its own anymore. Updating manually isn't a problem.

Thanks, ...

It appears that Microsoft has tampered with Firefox in one of it's security updates. The .net framework was added to the Mozilla browser automatically as an add on. The add on can be disabled, but not uninstalled, as they also caused the uninstall button of the add on to be grayed out. Uninstallation of the add on requires manual registry changes.

The .net framework is perhaps the most dangerous vulnerability of IE Explorer, as it allows websites to manipulate your system without admin privileges. ...

I spent more hours than I wanted to recently clearing a nasty Trojan from my niece's laptop. It was the "My Web Search" toolbar and the "Personal Anti-virus" that comes with it. Her IE browser had SIX TOOL BARS and very little viewing screen left. These install themselves when people don't uncheck those little boxes that offer up add-ons to downloaded programs and games. ...

before i install new version 4.2 at major geeks, is it ok to do as it says in the

"Tip": Click here to update all your PC's drivers"? And, down directly below that it says: "Recommended download: Click Here to check for system problems"

1) Should I do any of the above?

2) Which download should I use, Fl, Tx, or which?

3) I plan to> download to desktop,>add/remove,>install new version 4.2
