Just an update.. I am doing ok.
Sending out some resumes and trying to update some of my skills. Realizing how rusty I am on some of them. LOL. Took a computerized exam about MS Word... I did not realize the program did some of the things it was asking me to do on a document... LOL I need to get me a computer so I can put in some major time relearning Word. I so much prefer Excel and was just kinda learning Adobe.

But otherwise doing ok. Some days are harder than others. But mostly good. Walking Josie has helped me lose weight. SO that is a plus. My house is clean. My yard is looking better. Doing some upgrades with stuff I had just lying around. Can't stay bored for long. Also started quilting again (also with stuff I had lying around.)

Oh computer news update... It is past warrenty. Acer said give us $199 base amount for unlimited Tech Support. Wrap up the laptop and send it to us and then we will charge you for what we can do to fix it if anything.

So I am keeping my money and my paperweight (laptop). I will get me a new tower when I get monies again. LOL

Good idea. Look for Dell or HP on sale. Dell is my preference. I've never had a problem with my Dell desktop (8yrs 8mo old) other than having to replace the hard drive after 6 years, the monitor last year, and the power supply this year. The tower is still going strong. My Dell laptop is 1yr 8mo old, and no problems at all thus far.

Holly,

Sorry about your job and sorry about your computer.

I have been with out a job twice since first started work after I graduated from college way back in '69. The first time I was out of work for about 2 years and this last time more recently - for almost 2 years Hope the next time it is because I just retire. Hope you find a really great job soon.

I have a hp compaq tower (business computer) that the company bought for me the first time I worked for them (I used it to work from home). I have had it just over 6 years. The hard drive has been replaced twice (a seagate) but other than that I have not have any trouble Am starting to think that it will have to be replaced soon. If I could ever put the money back I would like to replace it before it goes - and use it as a backup. Hope you find the right one for yourself.

Holly,

I have no clue of what computer needs you have, nor the budget you generally go for. But if you are looking for something cheap, surf the net and do office work at home, have you consider looking into Netbooks?

Though the netbooks only have Office and Norton for a trial period, one can always use Open Office and the many free good Anti-virus programs out there. Then if you like working on photos and such one have the many free Online applications for such a task.

Here is a link I would like you to check out

Glad to know you are well and glad you have caught up on all your house work lol!
