Well, let's get a couple of facts straight about that article:

1. In 2001, the Defense Department request for the entire 2002 defense budget was $329.00 billion, a slight increase over the $291.1 billion 2001 defense budget requested by the Clinton Administration. So the $2.3 Trillion unaccounted for as cited in the first paragraph of the article in your link is either completely bogus, or had to have occurred during the Clinton years and possibly carried over into the first 9 months of the first year of the Bush administration when Rumsfeld reportedly said this on Sept 10, 2001. Coming from CBS and Katie Couric, I would have do more checking of the facts before I would believe anything reported by her or CBS.

2. You cannot believe anything reported by CNN, ABC, CBS (Katie Couric especially), MSNBC or most of the mainstream media and press without doing a fact check on your own from other sources that are more fair and balanced in what they report. They are unethical, corrupt marxists, clearly "unoficially" run by the State. Journalism is dead in America - we are no better than Russia, Venezuela, Cuba, China, North Korea, etc., anymore in this regard. What is printed or reported in the main stream media is only what the government wants you to hear, and nothing more, with few exceptions. Most news media are run by the far left and most are in a state of serious decline or on the verge of bankrupcy because most of Americans will not buy their papers or tune them in, and when the government bails them out as it has the banks, insurance, the auto industry, and with the states being next (California, the far Northeastern states), some even being forced to take bailouts not needed (e.g. South Carolina), they will officially be run by the "State" (i.e., the US Gov't). The goal of the Obama administration is to "OWN" America, and they are going about it in exactly the same way Hitler did in the 1930s. But, we never learn from history, do we?

3. My Opinion and Observations: The Bush administration was not a "conservative" administration, and many Republican congressmen and senators are not either. The Republican party lost it's way in 2001, and is as morally and politically corrupt as the Democrats. Bush and his minions are RINOs, just like Arlan Spector, Olympia Snow, and Susan Collins, to name a few. I don't listen to, or believe any of them. The Bush administration destroyed, in 8 short years, all the good done by the Reagan years and the Contract with America crowd during the Clinton years. Bush is responsible for only 2 good things: the Bush tax cuts that will expire in 2010, and keeping America safe from attack after 911. Other than that, he and the republican majority we had in congress until 2006 were a colossal failure! All of them are idiots and wimps, unable or unwilling to stand up for what is right and good, and no better than the democrats; but still the lesser of 2 evils when it comes to the choices we are given in our elected officials. All I could do was base my vote on which candidates I thought would do the least harm to the country! And now the stage is set; we are on a freight train to facism with seemingly nothing to stop it or derail it from happening. Only a clean sweep of both parties' incumbants in upcoming elections will change things, and the chance of that happening with the brainwashed ideologues our public education system has created is next to zero.

So you see, my gripe is not with Democrats alone, it is with all of government and the evil and corruption that it manifests in our society today. I care about the country deeply, and I don't believe the average "Joes" (you and me), democrat or republican, are of the same mold as those who make public office their career - a career calculated to further their own agenda and gain power and wealth at the expense of the average "Joes", that is, you and me. It really saddens me to see how so many people were taken in by Obama's theatre and rhetoric, when all one had to do was look at his voting record in Chicago and the US Senate, look at the people he regularly associated with from the time he was a young man until now, and read his book to know and understand what this man is really about, what his agenda is, and how evil and corrupt he is. This is not a man who has the best interests of America at heart, but his own interests and the interests of those who are manipulating his marionette strings (haven't you noticed that the man cannot talk without his teleprompters? Have you seen how he responds if he gets a question he isn't prepared ahead of time for?). Yes, there is more to Obama than just Obama - he isn't that smart, and didn't have any money. Someone much bigger and much more sinister than he is orchestrating all this! Statements Obama has made publically (but not reported in the main stream media) make it clear that, just like all totalitarian dictators, he hates capitalism and America, and is bent on destroying both. But, if one relies solely on the mainstream media for information, one will never learn these things, and facism, economic collapse and a healthcare system that will be anything but that will come at us like a freight train out of $#@*!
