Hello everyone,
I just joined this site even though I've known about it for quite a while
(Met pepperpot on the old fpb support forum)
Anyway both she and I have since moved away from the old host.
I don't know how much time I will be able to spend here because I also run my own forum.
I WILL be around as much as I am able though

True.. we have met many moons ago on FPB support forum and we were very active there, just like Sandra (Aloversunset) we helped along (A LOT!) at the FPB support forum.

Anyway... you are one great guy and I am glad you joined. Please tell the folks here all about your forum!

Oh.. and FYI... Outsider knows a lot about setting up forums... lol

Welcome aboard and dont worry... we are a small group and we understand there is life out there, but we do check in from time to time. So please feel free to peruse around... oh just jump right in any discussion... lol... we are an easy going group of people here

To be honest I previously avoided joining because I'm no "geek" by any stretch of the word"
I'm a TOTAL idiot when it comes to most kinds of codes and or programing etc. LOL
I figured I'd be totally intimidated by some here
I joined finally because I have a couple of questions that some might be able to help with.

As far as knowing alot about setting up forums?
Nah I've just been lucky thus far that I haven't brought down the entire net with a rogue code or something affraid

My forum?
Well it was 1st created to honor my young cousins
who joined the united states Marine corps.

It started out as a board where I'd hoped the family could stay in touch with them while they were stationed outside of the country as 1 is now.
he was sent to Japan recently where he'll probably spend the next 3 years.

But family interest was a wash and then I about got sued by an all Marine site because they felt I was plagiarizing their site's set up

I guess in a way I had but at that point I just didn't know any better
so I redesigned it to honor ALL American troops as well as their loved ones.

Today it is being worked into a support system for families of deployed troops
sent off to fight in our current conflict.
We discuss EVERYTHING that relates to our military and the militaries of our allied
friends such as Great Brittan, Australia etc.
We're currently a small group but we have a great time as on-line friends.
In our 3 years as a community we've only had a couple of trolls but they were promptly shown the door from whence they came Twisted Evil

I was also hesitant about joining because I thought that I would be intimidated by the knowledge here, but I wasn't intimidated at all! The people here are VERY friendly and helpful! I have learned SO much!! We actually, all learn from each other. Very Happy

Yeah... Outsider & I have talked talked extensively over the past couple of years... more so since the ordeal with FPB (our last host) and we were equally appalled by their lack of professionalism.

Outsider.. I just visited your forum... gald to see you are still with Topgunmike Services. I may say that its looking great and I have noticed that you have gone twitter too! LOL

Just like you we are a small group but we have a great time as on-line friends and don't worry about not being a Geek... most of us here falls into this category scratch

but as Ruth says..."we all learn from each other" Which is the beauty of it all!

Our name is probably not very representative of our group any more. Repa, has the most overall computer knowledge.
You will notice we have forums on a number of topics. Just join in when you feel up to it.

I can't figure out twitter myself

Topgumike has been AWESOME to me over the last year and 1/2
I have zero complaints about him or the service he provides.
The smf platform is a bit different than I'm used to but is NOT all bad.

Prices ARE reasonable.
I have the diamond package which is unlimited bandwidth at a cost of $12.50 USD per month

Pepper I try to get around as much as I can but I do tend to get busy with life.
Kids started back to school this week and things are crazy as usual
for this time of year.

Been 20 years since I was in school and STILL hate the back to school week,
as it drains the life right out of me

I'm glad your forum can be a place for us old fpb'ers to congregate and keep up with each other.

I still drift in over there once in a while
but not often as I just DON'T care if they last or not anymore
and I CERTAINLY have no "help" or support to offer
So that makes it hard to know how everyone is doing
that I enjoy talking with.

On owcp I'm pretty much all business and that makes it difficult to kick back and relax.
So I come over here to see what is going on
