Repa, I've got 2 scr. shots. I'm unsure if you have these in youir Avast 7 settings or not?

1. In the Browser Integration pic, I didn't install the IE Security Plugin, but, I guess I need it, right? And, I probably need to install the Ad Blocker don't I?

2. And, what about the Cloud Services", do I leave those 2 boxes checked?

Here's the scr shots:

Avast Settings Avast_13

Avast Settings Avast_14

Thank You!

The IE Security Plugin is already installed. You don't need the Ad Blocker, it is not installed and IE already has one. You don't need 2 ad blockers.

Yes

Repa,

This might be a good time to ask you about all those Icons on my desktop that came on my computer, & I never asked you what they are, & what I need to do with them? I've never used them. Thanks!

I don't know how to advise you without knowing what Icons you are talking about.

The icons that came packaged with my computer and are shown in the 2 screen shots above, that was posted on Tue 5 Mar - 12:36, on the far left side of the monitor screen. Here's some screen shots of most of the icons individually after clicking on them.

1. Avast Settings Zya10

2. Avast Settings Rara_m10

3. Avast Settings Magic_10

4. Avast Settings Hp_roo10

5. Avast Settings Hp_pro10

I've never clicked on them before or used them. I guess I should just delete them since I don't use'em. Is that your recommendation? Are you familiar with any of them?

Thanks in advance.

You can find out that they are by googling them and decide for yourself if it is something useful to you. Most are bloatware and will come with a trial period after which you will have to pay to continue using them.

If you decide to delete the icons, you need to first see if the application is installed in Programs and Features. If not, the Icon points to a link or an installation application. You need to go to the locations the Icons point to and delete whatever is there. To find the location, right click the Icon, select Properties on the popup menu, and the computer location will be given to you on that page. Go there and delete whatever the Icon was pointing to, and then the Icon. The ones I see that you can delete are:

MyRoom, Walmart Photo Center, Vudu, HP Magic Canvas, RaRa Music, Zya, Shop for Supplies.
