I have read about this before.
They are many websites who try to "play" on the name of good well known websites.
That is why it's always the best to use a search engine when looking for a website, if you don't have it listed in your favorites.
This happen to me once - a long time ago I type goggle instead of google... fortunately I got a google page telling me I misspelled and that I am not the only one... and if I was indeed looking for google click here - lol
As I am aware of the repercussions... I decided to google everything now

I usually go to google when I'm looking for a web site that is not in my favorites...can't remember all the ...////.....where they go..at times...

Also be careful to use the right thing after the dot One of the people I work with told me that at one time they meant to go to whitehouse.org (or maybe whitehoue.gov can't remember), but typed .com and ended up on a porn site. There are proably others where the samething might happen.

Because I cannot remember all sites, I either use My Favorites or Google the item. With site advisor it is easier.
