After reading the tut link that you provided, I'm confused...it says starting from scratch, but then it jumps to after it's already made.

''I clicked on "help", but there is no "About Dreamweaver". I'm reading about templates now. I'll post back again.

The "help" wasn't really a help. I tried creating one on my own...it's OK, but wanted the banner to look cool. I don't know enough CSS to make it look cool. I think that my daughter knows how to make a cool template--she's in a different state right now, so when she gets home, I'll ask her.

Thanks anyway Samantha! That's ok. I'm wondering how to create a template in Dreamweaver. And how to make a cool banner. That's CSS isn't it?

the cool banner is done in photoshop - then you just insert the image and set the position and size in css in your template... css dont really style anything all it does is align and do table colors if that makes any sense...

From what I understand of FastStone Image Viewer its just for viewing, rotating, resizing, cropping, annotating and printing images.

You can use other programs such as Gimp or perhaps the online applications I have found and listed here... you don't have to limit yourself to Photoshop alone

But if you have Dreamweaver CS3 don't you have Photoshop in the package?

Ruth.. if you are going to be into this webpage building thing, my advise is that you do have to learn how to make graphics. One of the reasons why I wanted to learn Photoshop

When I bought Dreamweaver CS3, I only bought that, not Adobe Creative Suite 3 pkg., so I don't have Photoshop. Is it expensive? I agree Sam, that I should learn it and how to make graphics.

Yes it is and it takes time to learn... as you know it took me awhile... lol... and still learning Rolling Eyes

You may take a look at this link
https://store1.adobe.com/cfusion/store/index.cfm?store=OLS-US&PID=2294914#loc=en_us&view=ols_cat&catID=SPECIALS&store=OLS-US

Repa has "Photoshop Elements" (which is the fraction of the cost) and loves it!

If you do end up buying CS4 pkg. it has everything a webpage builder and photographer needs

PostSubject: Re: Domain Question   7/22/2009, 18:13

I just finished the CSS tut. I have questions now. Why is there always a space after the {, and in between everything? Why is there a ; in between everything? Are those "just because" that's how CSS works?

I just had a thought...can I just use my Fireworks 4 for editing images and making banners? I use it for making the buttons and stuff for websites now.
