| The other night I was talking with a friend on the messenger. WHile we were chatting on the messenger she said something about the Messenger window was too big and went all the way to the bottom. She doesn't know a lot about computers, sometimes I can help her sometimes not. Makes it hard cause I can't see what she is doing.
Here is kind of the way our converstaion went - not the exact words - but kind of a summary of it.
Me: Does it take up your whole screen. my firend: yes Me: ok, and I told her the button to click so it would not be full sreen any more then I asked her if it is still took up the whol screen and if it is smaller. my firend - now it does (take up the whole scrren) my - I thought it did before. When I asked yoiu before if it took up the whole screen you said yes my friend - I misundersood me - so ok what do you mean before - do you mean it takes up the whole screen top to bottom my firend - yes - goes top to bottom me - I tell her how to drag the top down (I was going to tell her how to raise it up after she got it resized) me - ok, is where is the top now my riend - at the top after I put it back me - why did you put it back - I thought that was the problem my firend - just forget it for now me - ok
I still don't know what her problem was, and frustarted becauseI don't know how to ask the right questions or something to be able to help - especially when I can't see her screen.
Leaves me feeling disouraged.

| Sometimes I know what you mean, Fay. Just do the best you can and feel good about the fact that you tried to help. I've seen in the past where you explained things quite well to questions on our message board. | |

| Create a log me in account have her add her computer to it show her how to start it and close it so no one can access her computer but you, and then you can control her from your house. That's what I do with a few buddies of mine but I showed them how to start the client, and stop the client - shut it down from the services etc. it's easier that way. | |

| It is getting harder for me to help. Too much it changing too fast - and I can't keep up.
I don't want to be connecting to her computer, don't think it is a very good idea.

| One thing we always did here was post screen shots... they do help understand a bit more than words cuz lets face it, we all come up with different names.
I do understand you Fay, I do give up at times in trying to explain things | |

| Sam,
Yes, the screen shots can help at times. And at time I have tried to have my friend e-mail me one. Soemetime she can do it sometimes not. Doesn't do it enough that she remembers and I sometimes foget myself LOL and we use different e-mail programs. She has done it once or twice but other times she gets frustrated and says forget it. But other times it wouldn't help ayway. She is really scared of messing something up, she doesn't want to do anyting to upset her husband.

Warning! Beware of Download Manager install request in Ad Bar Under Geeks Logo | 10/31/2013, 16:09 by Repa | Just noticed that when I went to logon that there is an ad under the Geeks Logo that says, "your Download Manager might be outdated. Do you want to install it now?" Don't fall for it! Ignore it!
