I planned to post a screenshot I got from avast but I can't because above this box the normal things are not there. Above there is 5 radio buttons( circles) for None, solved, awaiting author reply, investigating, & unresolved.

What's wrong with this thing?

You need to enable googleapis in NoScript in firefox in order for the bbcodes to show. I don't know when this change occurred, but it has. You don't have these kinds of problems in IE. The other things you mentioned are for administrators to use as status flags on a post they are helping with. They've always been there.

I don't know how googleapis got disabled. After you reminded me the last time about enabling the NoScript in firefox I haven't bothered it. I'll try posting the screen shot.

1) Finally got it posted. This is the first message like this I've ever received from Avast. Is this Malware?

2) At the time the message appeared I wasn't trying to go to a website. I was working in Wordpad when it popped up. Can you explain this to me please?

WC it means what it says. You got the message as a result of something you were doing. You must have clicked on a website link that Avast detected as malicious. It told you that it blocked the site, whatever it was. Run ccleaner to get anything else out of your temporary internet files and cookies that might still be there.

It might be overkill but I run ccleaner after every online session.
thanks

WC, on second look, it looks like Avast may have been going to its own download server for a virus definition update and detected something it didn't like. That would be wierd unless their site got hacked or something is wrong with the server. If I find anything I'll let you know. In the meantime, don't worry about it.

Update: well, I found it! Looks like this may happen when it can't connect to its own server. Several people have experienced this, but I haven't seen it on any of my computers. You can read about it here:
