| When I run spybot immunize on my netbook it is leaving 15279 items unprotected - they are all: firefox poppus.
When I check for updates, it shows there are no more updates. The box for firefox popups is checked. I am running as administrator. No browser windows open. I have run multiple times - rebooted and tried again.
It works fine on my desktop - 0 unproected and shows 15242 firefox pop ups protected and total items.
netbook firefox 15.0 spybot 1.6.2.46
desktop firefox 14.0.1 spybo6 1.6.0.30
Sometimes it appears to freez, other times it finishes.
Any idea what the problem is on my netbook?

| You have the latest version of spybot, which I have also. I am not experiencing the problem you are currently, but have experienced it in the distant pass with an earlier version of spybot. To resolve it, I had to uninstall spybot and reinstall it. | |

| Repa,
I did the uninstall and re-install - did not help. The first time I ran - it ran and everythng was immunizied everything except the firefox popups. I tried running again - and it hung up.
I don't know. I will not mess with it anymore tonight. Mayjust hve to leave that part unprotected.
Do you know hat it is doing for the immuniziaion for the firrox popups?
Fay
Well, just left it running and went to do some things. When I got back it had stopped and those items were immunized. Don't know why it did not do it the 1st time and don't know why the 2nd time - it looked like it was stuck - the progress bar not moving for a long time. Anyway everything is immunized now.
Thanks, Fay | |

| Fay, I've seen that behavior before too, but not in a while, and not with the current version of Spybot. When it hung with me, it would eventually complete if I let it run - never knew why it was doing that, and it didn't consistently do that from spyware update to spyware update. When it got too annoying, a complete uninstall, including manual removal of registry entries for Spybot and removing the program folder and reinstalling seemed to do the trick.
Wondering if your problem has anything to do with Firefox 15? Doesn't really make sense that it would, but you never know. I'm using Firefox 12 and earlier versions depending on which computer, and not seeing those problems with the same version of Spybot you have. I noticed you have an earlier version of Firefox and Spybot on your desktop and not experiencing the problem there - might want to think about going back a version on the netbook and see what happens. One thing I don't do is update my browsers to the next version when they become available - I wait to see what problems are encountered before I do, and if not having any problems with my current browser (IE in particular) and the browser version remains supported, I may go months or a year or longer before I do update to the next version. | |

| Repa,
I wondered if it might be the version I had. Guess I'll watch and see how how it does.
I may have Firefox set to auomatically update. I really don't have many things that way, guess I need to check it and if it is change that. I don't remember if I told it to update or not.
Thanks, Fay | |

Beware of Download Manager install request in Ad Bar Under Geeks Logo | 10/31/2013, 16:09 by Repa | Just noticed that when I went to logon that there is an ad under the Geeks Logo that says, "your Download Manager might be outdated. Do you want to install it now?" Don't fall for it! Ignore it!
