| Repa, Can you see the 3 failed updates, one is hi-lited, the other 2 are up toward the top. It states that 2 are Important, the 3rd. one doesn't say. I clicked the "Help" feature to try see what to do about those failures. I found the "Microsoft Fix It Repair thing. First I did Search for new updates, & that did not pull them up. 1. Should I try to install all 3 them, or maybe just the 2 "Important" ones, or not bother about them?? 2. If try to install, use the "Microsoft Fix It Repair", or is there a better way, if I need to install them? | |

| Try installing them again. The most important one is the Windows Defender definition update, not the 2 that are marked important. If you still have a problem, come back. | |

| Repa: just launch windows update Maybe I'm not doing it corectly? I went >Start menu>All Programs>Windows Updates . I thought it would carry me to the Windows website but it took me here(screen shot) I clicked "Check for Updates" in the left column, but it did not pull up the 3 failed updates, or any others. How do I Launch windows update? | |

| That is the Windows Update screen and it appears that everything available has been installed that is important or critical. The one optional update there is probably IE9 that could be downloaded and installed if you clicked on it - but I don't recommend it right now. You do have automatic updates turned on, don't you? If anything were available to download and install that is an important or critical update, you'd have the link there to do that. Otherwise, looks like the operation was done automatically for you. | |

| 1. Repa: You do have automatic updates turned on, don't you? No, I turned them off, & now do them manually so I don't get IE9 again.
2. Repa: The one optional update there is probably IE9. No, the one optional update offered is Bing Desktop.
3. So, I assume that I should forget about trying to get the 3 failed updates? | |

| If you need them they'll appear again. So, did you hid IE9? If you don't have it installed, it should appear as an optional update unless you hid it from showing. | |

| Repa: So, did you hid IE9? Ya know, I noticed it gone a while back, I kept unchecking it anytime I was doing win. updates. If I hid it, it was accidentally, cause I don't know how otherwise. I don't know what happened to it? I still have IE 8. I don't need to look for it do I? | |

Warning! Beware of Download Manager install request in Ad Bar Under Geeks Logo | 10/31/2013, 16:09 by Repa | Just noticed that when I went to logon that there is an ad under the Geeks Logo that says, "your Download Manager might be outdated. Do you want to install it now?" Don't fall for it! Ignore it!
