Repa,
1. You've said before that you usually don't update some things if all is working correctly.

adobe flash& updating apps. Flash_10

2. Does that include apps, like this adobe flash?

3. What all does that include, or does it apply to all your apps.? I usually just go on & update them because just like this Adobe flash they usually say to increase security you need to install this new update, or words to that effect.

4. I guess I need to install this flash update?

Yes, you can update adobe flash. Normally, you would also update java, but with the security problems they are having, we need to wait until Oracle fixes that.

1. Repa, I didn't install Java on this new computer. You know better than I, but, I'm thinking I don't even need Java, because since I've been using this new computer, we haven had a single instance when we got a notice that Java is needed for anything that we do on the internet. So, even when it gets fixed, do I need Java??

2. On anything that pops up on the screen & says "new update available, of anything that I have installed on my computer, should I go ahead & install it, since that is what I normally do anyway? Or, like you do, is there anything that I should wait to install, if all seems to be working allright.? I'm still not clear on that?

No WC, if you haven't found a use for it, don't install it.

It depends on what it is, like adobe flash. Most things are taken care of by Windows update. You should also update your malware scanners when they tell you definitions and software updates are available.
