Ccleaner-Another new version?

Repa, I clicked on my Ccleaner this morning, a popup said there's a new version, 4.07, do you want to go install, I clicked No, and analyzed & completed running Ccleaner, then went to majorgeeks, to download, then I remembered I just got a new version 4.06 on Sat. 10/26/13....and when I clicked on the "Save" the App. for Ver. 4.07, a popup said this 4.06 already exists do you want to override it...I said No....and, quit to ask you about this.?

Did you have this happen recently, or ever before?......it's not happened to me before....do you know what's going on?  Thanks.......

No it doesn't happen to me. I'm still using 3.15. If I want an updated version, I go look for it. I've never gotten any warning messages that there is a new version. There is a link at the bottom of the page that says "Check for updates" so when I think about it, I might click on it to see what's new. The version 4.07 you are referring to is not freeware, it is an upgrade that you'll have to pay for to get.

Ever since I began using Ccleaner, on it's settings I checked the box that said to always check for updates, plus I also get the newsletter from Piroform, that also tells me when there's an update available. That's how I know about them.....
Not long ago, I posted here & asked you if "was it a good idea to install any new updates available", & you told me it was & to go ahead and install the one that I was posting about at that particular time.
And, that's how I got the notice about Version 4.06.4324 that I'm currently using........
and installed just the other day on 10/26/13 ........

yes, it's a good idea for malware applications - actually a must, ccleaner is good but not a must. I don't check options for automatic updates or warnings as I periodically do that myself and want to make my own judgment about whether to update or not, even the malware applications except Avast and Windows Defender, which I let do automatic updates of virus and malware definitions, but not update the program. That I want to decide myself. What I do is not what I necessarily recommend for you - going the automatic route and keeping things up to date is better for you.
