--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is for all you memory card users.
Always keep some room available on your card.
Don't delete specific images on the camera and expect to back fill those
areas with new images. With better cameras , it may not matter, but with
some cameras "IT WILL MATTER".
Always "Format Images" in the camera and never on the Hard Drive.
drives can deal with some fragmentation, but digital cameras and memory cannot.
Transfer Images with a "card Reader". While it is perfectly "OK" to cable
camera to the computer to make your transfer..over time it will put some
excessive wear on fragile electrical contacts on the camera.
If your images do not transfer correctly...STOP immediately and be very
sure that you know what you are doing. Excessive repeated unsucessful
attempts to read the memory card has potential to do more damage.
AND Lastly....I personally recommend memory cards of 1-2 GBs or smaller . Larger
cards are nice, but if you scramble files on your card..you have lost a lot of images. It's safest not to put all your eggs in one basket.
