| Repa Please look at this scr shot.... I've received this "some files couldn't be scanned" for the last 4 days...I always run Ccleaner before I run my Quick Scans, as you previously told me to do, but it has not worked the last 4 days any way.....before now it worked... Do I need to do something about this, & if so what?..... or just ignore?... Thanks.... EDIT:12/18/14: I JUST HAD A THOUGHT, I've been getting an Update notice saying that a new program version is available, & I'm wondering if this is Avast's way of trying to force me to update to another version...they automatically updated me last time, u might remember, & a lot of other people were also upset about it, the Avast forum covered it, & u also read it, Avast Techs claimed that they could not update all the versions, which is probably true, & I'm wondering if this might be the case here?...... | |

| I cannot find out what those bg files are. They may be associated with adobe flash, but I don't know as no one else seems to know what they are or if they are dangerous. I need to see where they are located on your computer. Open the page you posted above and hover your cursor on the vertical line between "File Name" and "Status". When you see a double arrow appear, left click and drag the line to the right until the entire file path is shown and repost it. It might be that you or your wife downloaded or updated something in the last 4 days - do you remember what - like an update to Adobe Flash, or did your wife download something you don't know about? You could also restore your system to 5 days or further back before the problem appeared and see if that gets rid of those files. Because they are password protected, they cannot be scanned and that is the error message you are getting. | |

| that you or your wife downloaded or updated something in the last 4 days - do you remember what Yes, Flashplayer, I also was trying to install the latest version on Firefox, but, I was having trouble installing the update....I thought I had finally gotten it installed until I just looked...& it did not update in Firefox...I don't know why....Anyway, here's the expanded entire file path is shown in scr shot.... I'll probably await your reply.... Thanks....EDIT: If I Restore back 5 days or so that will remove the Flashplayer update, but, one way or another I assume that I would need to remove the Flashplayer update & reinstall, correct??.. | |

| Well, as I suspected, but didn't know for sure. Open Windows explorer and click on your Downloads folder in the left column, or follow this path:
c:\Users\WC Turner\Downloads
There, you will see Install_flashplayer16x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe
Double-click on it to start the install. Uncheck any Optional Offers, and follow the directions as the download and install proceeds through steps 1 - 3. When the install is completed, click the Finish button. Those files will then disappear. | |

| I did the install, but I thought I did it the other day though, ...and now got the installation run... and in the downloads folder this Install_flashplayer16x32_mssd_aaa_aih.exe(only difference was in my downloads it did not show the exe on the end, but it worked just the same)and it went away...
then I looked in Prog & Features and they show they're updated(both Firefox & IE)...here's another difference, on the firefox description where it used to say "Plugin" on the end Firefox description, it now has Adobe Flashplayer 16 NPAPI on the end...
Thanks Carnac the all knowing(remember on the old Johnny Carson program?)
Thanks Repa!! | |

Warning! Beware of Download Manager install request in Ad Bar Under Geeks Logo | 10/31/2013, 16:09 by Repa | Just noticed that when I went to logon that there is an ad under the Geeks Logo that says, "your Download Manager might be outdated. Do you want to install it now?" Don't fall for it! Ignore it!
