I've never really been clear on how to scan with avast.

1) Should I do separate scans with each of the 3 options, Local disks, Removal Media, & Folders?

2) What exactly is "Removal Media"?

3) Do you have any recommendations?

No, do the local disks option, that covers everthing on your non-removeable hard drive(s).

2) What exactly is "Removal Media"?

CD/DVD players, floppy disk drive, external HD, image card readers, etc.

3) Do you have any recommendations?

Just noticed that when I went to logon that there is an ad under the Geeks Logo that says, "your Download Manager might be outdated. Do you want to install it now?" Don't fall for it! Ignore it!
