| Repa,
I went to MajorGeeks to get this new Update version, and when I started the update, the progress bar showed it would take 33 minutes to download this 8.2.0 version.
1) Have you got this update?
2) Did you go to Major Geeks?
3) When it's offered when trying to do an everyday update, the link takes me to CNet. You don't like CNet website, do you?

| I put it on my laptop last night and it took about 10 minutes. Your service could have been slow, or the Majorgeeks server could have been under heavy load. Shouldn't take 33 minutes. I checked the download at CNET, and it's ok. It is bigger than the current Ad-aware though, 98MB vs 75MB, so I'm not sure what is leaner about it. Looks the same to me, and takes up more room. If you are concerned, keep what you have until they stop supporting it, and then upgrade. | |

| I canceled the majorgeeks download when I saw the 33 minutes to download. I knew that didn't seem right, but, I didn't know what was causing it.
Where can I find the size, and version of the old one that I've got? I looked earlier today, but couldn't locate the info. I finally found my old version where I had written it in a notebook, just for these occasions, or else I would not have known.
Thanks. | |

| If you have the old download installation executable in your My Downloads, you can check the size there. The previous version was 75MB. | |

| Repa,
1) I still have not upgraded to the 8.0.0 Version yet, have you?
2) I ran a scan the other night, in Safe Mode, "the Full Scan", and it ran 3-1/2, to 4 hours, and still didn't finish, because I had to finally "Cancel" it, it got too late. Does yours run that long, isn't that a bit unusual?

I have version 8.1.4 and there is an 8.2 version available now that I am going to download tomorrow. I just finished running the full scan on my system, which has 3 hard drives totaling 5 partitions with a total of 1070GB, and it scanned all of it in 1hr and 30min.

| Thanks, Repa!
Just curious. Above, in your 2/18/10 post, it seemed like you would not be installing this new version 8.2.0, because it took up more room. Did I misread your thoughts, or what made you decide to install now?

| Repa,
I'm gonna go to majorgeeks per your link after I post this and try to install.
Would you be so kind as to post how you think I should customize it, once installed?
Thanks! | |

Thanks! As I recall, it's pretty much set the way you want it. I didn't have to change anything, if I remember correctly.

| Repa,
So it is already giving full, real time protection, without setting it to do that?

Just to let you know that this time it only took a short time to get it installed. And, it is faster, which is good! Thanks for everything!

Warning! Beware of Download Manager install request in Ad Bar Under Geeks Logo | 10/31/2013, 16:09 by Repa | Just noticed that when I went to logon that there is an ad under the Geeks Logo that says, "your Download Manager might be outdated. Do you want to install it now?" Don't fall for it! Ignore it!
