Well, I don't know, Fay. It's just to the right of the text search box on both IE and Firefox on my computer. What OS and versions of IE/Firefox are you experiencing this on?

I have done some searching is here is what I have found so far.

Using win 7
with both IE and FIrefox - if I type in www.google.com - the advanced serach link does not show up

but on firefox I may have let it automatocally set up google as my home page - I don't remeber - but when it come up that way the address bar shows: http://www.google.com/firefox?client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla:en-US:official
instead of just http://www.google.com and the advanced link is there

I did some seraches about the advance serach link - and found this:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/youtube/thread?tid=25be9ef9960079aa&hl=en

It says in part:
It is not gone. It is under "Search Options" and has been renamed "Additional Search Options".
Perform a search first, click "Search Options" and click "Additional Search Options".

So it appears you had to do a search to get to the advance serach options link

I don't like it either.

IE is using the incremental search - and I don't know how to turn it off. If I start typing it takes me to another page which has the advanced search link.

Firefox is not using the incremental search. I have to type in something and press enter then I go to another page which has the advanced search link.
