Avast Up date Message

Repa,
1) Got a screen shot of avast telling of an error in downloading new update today. I tried manual update several times as it said to do & got the error each time. Today is the first time I've ever seen this notice before. Did you get this same message today?



2) One time today avast said I was up to date, but, when I right click on the avast orange ball icon, & click the last pop up message, I keep getting the red message to update. I currently have Update 121119-1 & it was released yesterday at 3:26:47 PM. Generally, I only get one update released in a 24 hour period, I have noticed. Here's a shot of it:



This is the only site I've visited today & based on what you see is it ok to use internet, and should I be concerned & what to do? What do you make of this?

I got that messate earlier today on my XP machine. Tried it again at a later time and it worked.

Also on my WIN 7 machine - when I tired to update the program, I got an error - waited a bit and tried later and it worked.

I dont' know but wonder if they wre having some troulbe with their servers or something.

after posting the screen shots i turned the computer off for the afternoon. i just turned it back on & went into safe mode, & when finished restarted to see about avast. just after the desktop came up it updated.

so far i'm liking this new machine, win 7, & i've noticed that avast normally updates like it just did, in just a couple of minutes.

and, in case anyone with a compaq machine doesn't know, you're supposed to hold down the f 8 key, instead of just tapping it as i used to do in xp, in order to get into safe mode.......

Avast servers were having a problem yesterday.
